Exam arrangements

You should now have all your exam arrangements in place and should receive details for your exams by email in week 8 from the exams office. Please contact us quickly if you have an queries.

Dyslexia/SpLD Specialist Study Skills Support 

  • We have some availability at Harcourt Hill.
  • We also have appointments available at the Ferndale Campus in Swindon during weeks 3 and 5. 
  • We may also have last minute appointments available at any of our sites.

If you have any queries or think you may be dyslexic, why not come and see us before the start of Semester 2? New to Brookes in January?

Send us in your Dyslexia assessment so that we can register you for support at Brookes. You can email it to dyslex.sup@brookes.ac.uk or post it to Dyslexia and SpLD Service, Student Services, Helena Kennedy Centre, Headington Hill Site, Oxford, OX3 0BP.

Please also book an appointment to come and see us to discuss your support by calling Student Services on (01865) 484650. If you have not already done so, you may want to apply for Disabled Students' Allowances (DSA). For more information visit www.yourdsa.com

Appointments for full dyslexia/SpLD assessments are now fully booked for semester 1. We will shortly be filling appointments for January and Semester 2.

Disability Awareness Week Events

Students are invited to two events run by the University of Oxford as part of their Disability Awareness Week. The Abnormally Funny People comedy show on Tuesday 15th November at 7pm in the auditorium, St John’s College. Tickets (only £4) can be bought from this website as only a very limited number will be available on the night. Details of the second event, an EmployAbility workshop, can be found on this flyer

Ferndale Campus Marketplace

On 29th September between 12 and 3pm members of the Dyslexia/SpLD team will be available at the Student Services Marketplace to register new students and answer any queries.

 

Information for continuing Students

Welcome back to returning students
 
We hope you all had a good summer.  
 
As a continuing student you will remain registered with Brookes Dyslexia/SpLD Service and will continue to receive any exam arrangements. You may need to collect more blue marking cards or speak to us about arranging your specialist support tuition.
 
For most students your Disabled’ Students’ Allowances have been agreed for your whole course.      However, if you do not receive a student loan, you will need to reapply for the DSA each year using the DSA1 form.
 
The Dyslexia/SpLD service is available to advise you as you go into the next year. You can email us at dyslex.sup@brookes.ac.uk
 
Or, if you wish to come in and see us please note, we will be fully occupied in week 0 and some of week 1 with first year students.   But there will be appointments available from week 1 onwards. Call Student Services reception on (01865) 484650 to arrange a suitable time.
